Spray Collars

Whilst the Aboistop and Masterplus Spray Collars are effective on most dogs, we cannot guarantee that they will be so on every dog. Therefore, we offer a 14 day try out period for these two products.

Once you have bought the collar, it should be apparent if it is going to be effective on your dog or not within two or three days. If it is not having the desired effect on your dog, return it to us, with a printout of the spray collar returns form (found at the bottom of this page), within 14 days of the item's despatch date and we shall refund you the cost of the collar minus the cost of the consumable items (battery and spray canister).

My spray collar isn't working, what should I do?

Firstly, refer to the trouble-shooting guide in the back of the instruction manual. Batteries are also a reason for returns; make sure you have the correct make and variety of battery, e.g. the MasterPlus unit battery must be Sanyo, Energiser or Kodak and of the lithium variety. Batteries from other manufacturers and silver oxide or alkaline batteries are unlikely to operate the unit correctly.

Please ensure that you fill out the returns form at the bottom of this page, explaining the reason for return and providing full contact details. When returning a MasterPlus Pro spray training collar, you must return both the unit and handset.

Spray collars still within the 2 year guarantee period will be repaired or replaced free of charge, under the terms of the guarantee. Spray collars outside of the 2 year guarantee period will be repaired if possible, at a charge of £22 per unit.

Spray Collar Trouble-Shooting Guide

If you are experiencing a problem with your spray collar, then under the terms of the guarantee it should be returned to us for repair or replacement, rather than the store from where it was purchased. However, by following the trouble-shooting guide below, you may be able to resolve the problem without having to return the collar.

Batteries: Very often collars returned to us as not working simply have flat batteries or incorrect batteries. Before returning the unit, it is advisable to replace the battery in the unit. The recommended batteries are Sanyo, Energiser or Kodak and they MUST be lithium. Batteries from other manufacturers, alkaline or silver oxide will not operate the unit correctly.
Handset batteries need replacing when the light on the handset flashes during activation. A steady light is normal and indicates that the batteries are strong.
Refilling: It is not unusual for a small amount of the aerosol to be lost during the filling process. This can be minimised by only ever filling the collar when it is on a flat surface and holding the refill upright. If this filling procedure is followed but a lot of spray is lost during the filling process, then the refill valve may be damaged and need replacing. In which case the unit should be returned to us for repair.

Waste Battery Regulations

Under the Waste Battery Regulations, The Company of Animals are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises in person (please do not post). Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com

Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points. End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.
